Panic Attacks and Anxiety
Anxiety is a feeling which builds up slowly. It is brought on by stress and is quite a common experience for most of us. However, if not dealt with properly, it can lead to disorders such as panic attacks and phobias.
Panic attacks are commonly brought on by stress. They occur suddenly and are part of our fight or flight response to a perceived threat, gone a bit awry.
When our fight or flight mechanism is triggered, our body produces extra adrenaline. Adrenaline is a hormone which can help us "fight", become strong enough to defend ourselves, or "flight", fast enough to escape.
If our level of stress, in reaction to our perceived threat, increases, our adrenaline increases too. This in turn produces an intense sense of fear, i.e., panic. One of the first symptoms of a panic attack is shortness of breath or breathing too fast. Breathing in this manner then leads to other symptoms such as:
✔ rapid and thumping heartbeat
✔ shaking
✔ tingling in hands, arms and face
✔ dizziness
✔ a feeling you are about to die
✔ chest pains
✔ breathlessness
✔ unable to swallow
✔ blurred vision
TFT in particular is highly effective at eliminating very quickly feelings of anxiety and stopping panic attacks.
